We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in either Potters Bar or Barking to cover their London and Home Counties contracts within the M25.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in successfully delivering their projects. You will establish, implement, and manage pre- and post-contract commercial and procurement management systems and procedures. Reporting to the Senior/Chief Quantity Surveyor, you will evaluate, negotiate, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks for their contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and manage pre and post-contract commercial and procurement management systems and procedures.
* Evaluate, negotiate, manage, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks for contracts.
* Prepare and review contract documents, including bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and tender documents.
* Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
* Monitor and track project costs and report any variations.
* Prepare and submit interim and final valuations.
* Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
* Provide accurate and timely cost advice and reports to the Senior/Chief Quantity Surveyor and project team.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
* Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors as needed
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the civil engineering or utilities sector
* CSCS certification is required
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial management
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
