AboutThe Role:

Youwill work within our safety critical firmware development teamacross all design phases of the firmware lifecycle. The teamuses agile SCRUM methods to develop high integrity firmwareapplications adopting the latest state-of-the-art toolsets. Training will be provided where required to equip you with theskills necessary to develop requirements, architectures, designsand HDL code for controls firmware applications essential for theprotection and monitoring of nuclear propulsionplant.

Inaddition, you will be engaged in the development of bespokesoftware toolsets in support of the deliverable equipment firmware.The applications you will be involved in are leading-edge solutionsaddressing the challenges of meeting the highest safety integrityrequirements. Within the firmware team there are opportunities todevelop your career in technical management, team leadership or asa technical specialist. The team offers the opportunity to becomean expert in the use of state-of-the-arttoolsets.

Whatyou will bedoing:

Youwill follow a DevOps-based firmware development lifecycle todeliver customer requirementsby:

  • Developinghigh-level firmware requirements usingDOORS
  • Creatingarchitecturaldesigns
  • Defining lowlevel requirements and detaileddesigns
  • Writing VHDLand Verilog HDL code using SigasiStudio
  • Simulating HDLdesigns at unit, integration and system level using Mentor GraphicsQuestaSIM
  • Undertakingsynthesis, place and route and static timing analysis usingSynopsis Synplify, targeting XilinxFPGAs
  • DevelopingPython scripts for processautomation
  • Operatingcontinuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)toolsets
  • Managingchange control and configuration management usingGIT
  • You will beengaged in problemsolving,
  • You will berequired to demonstrate process adherence and solutioncorrectness,
  • You willbe expected to engage in continued improvement of our firmwaredevelopment process, for cost and timescale reduction and qualityimprovement,
  • You willsupport process and technicalaudits,
  • You willliaise with the Software, Systems and Electronicsteams,
  • You will managesuppliers, including scoping packages of work and reviewing theirdeliveries.

  • Qualifiedto Degree, or HND level : In Electronics Engineering, ComputerScience, or relateddiscipline,
