3.5t Van Driver

Position: Van Driver Location: Charlton Hours of Work: * Monday to Friday 8:00 - 17:00 * Pay Rate: £12.00-£13.00 per hour (Monday to Friday) Objective: Swanstaff Ltd is seeking a reliable Van Driver to deliver customer orders safely and professionally for our client in Charlton. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and the ability to securely load, strap, and transport goods. The Van Driver will also pick up materials from suppliers, maintain the vehicle’s condition, and support general warehouse upkeep. Key Responsibilities: * Customer Orders: Load and securely arrange customer orders onto the company vehicle for safe transport * Strapping Goods: Secure goods onto a flatbed 3.5T vehicle using ratchet straps; experience with ratchet straps is preferred but not essential * Deliveries and Pickups: Deliver orders to customers and collect materials from suppliers, ensuring the most efficient routes are taken * Customer Service: Maintain a polite, professional, and helpful attitude when liaising with customers and suppliers * Vehicle Maintenance: Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy; regularly check fluid levels, tyre pressures, and report any damages promptly * Warehouse and Office Housekeeping: Assist in keeping warehouse and office spaces clean, organised, and well-stocked * Team Collaboration: Work professionally with colleagues, other store locations, and head office staff * Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, company policies, and driving regulations * Additional Duties: Support stock movement within the warehouse and assist in additional tasks as needed Person Specification: The ideal candidate will be organised, conscientious, and able to follow instructions while working with minimal supervision. Experience with ratchet straps and securing loads on a flatbed is advantageous. Candidates should have strong communication skills, good timekeeping, reliability, and flexibility. Physically able to lift, stack, and move materials, and comfortable using mechanical aids as needed.
