Solution Delivery Director

Job DescriptionOur client, a leading wholesale bank based in London, are looking for a Solution Delivery Director on a permanent basis. This role will be 3 days on site and 2 from home.Job SummaryThe Director of Solution Delivery is responsible for directing development and implementation of applications to support Enhancements, Compliance, and Projects.Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the role will operate as part of the leadership IT team and support the work of all other peers in the leadership team.ResponsibilitiesLead the definition of the technology solution roadmap and implementation strategy with CIO, IT Leadership Team, and business leaders across identified systems.Drive the adoption of new application that hosted on cloud services, and microservice/containerization application architecture in solution and design.Lead application development to define the DevOps/SDLC best practices through innovative technology solution, design, and delivery. Where possible, drive automatic software deployment.Define measurable and quality metrics for solutions as assigned. Exercise proportionality for practical solutions given the banks size.Support and ensure an effective continuous integration and delivery pipeline exists to build, integrate, and deploy software release to various platforms across SDLC, whilst insuring releases can be rolled back safely if necessary.Lead and steward the management of technology projects through its life cycle, including resources planning, budget monitoring, clients' expectation management, change management, contingency planning, risk assessment and mitigation.Implementing metrics, processes and implementing standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high quality deliverables.Co-ordinate formulation of solution architecture, estimates costs, and ensure projects meet defined requirements.Establish policies and procedures established by industry standards and norms, as well as lead and develop team with coaching in best practices and technologies.Participate in defining and implementing a consistent application delivery and management strategy and governance structure.Support the process of identifying and selecting new applications to meet a specific business purpose when the need arises.Facilitate application review meetings around technical design, decision-making and problem solving to ensure quality solutions and services are delivered.Develop and manage direct relationships with business and IT subject matter experts by ensuring business solutions align with identified goals and priorities.Work on process automation and identify how IT solutions can best achieve business goals.Experienced RequiredExperience working in BankingExperience in Application development, design & integration.Previous experience in a direct supervisory role or advanced technical leadership.Proven delivery in Change delivery and project management.Proven experience of providing assurance on applications across multiple users.Relevant experience of managing a team of IT analysts and developers including third party management of suppliers and vendors (including budgeting & prioritizing resources, leading, coaching, developing & motivating staff.Good knowledge of application testing approaches.Good knowledge of application architecture and digital: concepts, practices, and tools.A deep understanding of the enterprise's business and industry, key principles of business and competitive strategy, and evolving digital and technology trends.Sound knowledge of Project delivery methods, including SAFe
