Purchasing Manager Food Manufacturing • Office-based role in Margate, Kent • Salary £40K Are you an experienced Purchasing Manager with experience buying raw materials & packaging for food production? If so, and you are seeking a new challenge within an innovative and developing organisation, then read on… The Company Over the last 2 plus decades, this organisation has grown from an idea to a leading food producer, offering their produce to wholesalers and foodservice customer across the UK. Soon to relocate into even larger premises still in Margate they are seeking an experienced buyer of food ingredients and packaging to drive new supplier negotiations. The Role This role will see you working collaboratively with the production and warehouse teams. You’ll have a wide range of duties, these will include. • Source and onboard new suppliers from UK and EU. Including price negotiations. They are looking for the best products at the most competitive pricing. • Maintain and develop existing supplier relationships, supplier visits etc • Ensure stock is OTIF for production, limiting waste. • Manage the core purchasing budget • Also responsible for utilities and new machinery purchasing & contracts etc Your Skills & Experience To be considered for this opportunity you will need. • Excellent skills in communications, negotiations and relationships • A background in food manufacturing • Experience with ERP systems, ideally Sage 200 • And confident with Excel • Understanding of importing produce to the UK
