Role: Site Manager – Regional Social Housing Contractor Location: Leicester-based (Project in Central Derby) Salary: Competitive, plus benefits Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Company: My client is a leading regional social housing contractor based in Leicester, renowned for delivering high-quality affordable housing projects across the Midlands. With a strong reputation for sustainability, community engagement, and innovative design, we are expanding our team to support a major new development in Derby. The Project: We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a £7 million mixed-use scheme in central Derby. The project includes the construction of: * New build flats * Commercial units * Townhouses This is a flagship project that combines residential and commercial elements to support the regeneration of Derby's urban landscape. The Role: As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will work closely with project managers, sub-contractors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring health and safety compliance and maintaining quality throughout the build. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the site team and coordinate sub-contractors and suppliers. * Ensure projects meet all required safety, quality, and environmental standards. * Manage the site budget and ensure financial targets are achieved. * Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities. * Monitor and report on the progress of works to senior management. * Maintain accurate project documentation and manage site reports. * Ensure a positive relationship with the local community and project stakeholders. What We’re Looking For: * Proven experience as a Site Manager in residential and commercial construction, ideally with exposure to social housing projects. * Strong understanding of construction processes and technical knowledge, including new build flats, townhouses, and mixed-use schemes. * Excellent leadership and communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work collaboratively with a wider team. * Full understanding of health and safety regulations (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid qualifications preferred). * A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
