Construction Solicitor, NQ - 1 PQE West End, £55-65K + excellent benefits + hybrid working.
Well - regarded, thriving commercial legal 500 law firm is looking for a solicitor to join their thriving Construction team, within their Real Estate department. The whole team consists of 5 Partners, 2 Senior Associate, and 1 Trainee and forms part of the wider property team consisting of 4 Partners, 3 Senior Associates, 2 Associates, 2 Solicitors, 1 Paralegals, 1 Trainee and 2 Legal Secretaries. Key duties:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, sub-contracts, and consultancy agreements
- Provide legal advice on construction law matters to clients, including risk management and dispute avoidance strategies
- Support clients on live construction projects, including contract documentation, advice and assistance, and performance issues
- Drafting collateral warranties and updating precedent documents to meet new legislations
- Assist in managing construction disputes, including adjudication, arbitration and litigation
- Managing construction due diligence
- Drafting sub-contracts, updating trackers, reviewing engrossments, and drafting JCT contracts and professional appointments and running conflicts of interest and AML checks
Ideal Candidate:
- 6 months to 1-year PQE in construction law
- Strong academic background (a 2:1 degree or equivalent)
- Experience in working in a fast paced and busy role
- Excellent drafting and verbal/written communications skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, driven, and reliable.
- Professional with a friendly and personable approach with colleagues and clients
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and affinity with systems.
