Specification Writer - Food Manufacturing Location: Bala Wales Salary: up to £32,500 About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturing business that is seeking a talented and meticulous Specification Writer to join their team. This company is renowned for its commitment to quality, safety, and innovation within the food industry. They are looking for someone with a strong technical background to ensure the accuracy and compliance of product specifications. The Opportunity As a Specification Writer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining product specifications, ensuring they meet all relevant regulatory, customer, and industry standards. This role involves working closely with key teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production, to ensure the highest level of accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain product specifications, including ingredient breakdowns, nutritional values, allergen information and packaging Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, BRC, FSMA) and customer requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to gather and verify all technical data. Manage specification databases, ensuring data integrity and traceability. Assist with packaging and labelling information to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Prepare customer-specific product documentation as needed.Candidate Requirements Experience in writing product specifications in the food manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to documentation and data management. Ability to work cross-functionally with teams and communicate technical information clearly. Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
