Operations Manager

Welcome to Marshalls Garden - the online specialist gardening retailer, run by gardeners for gardeners.Due to business growth, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our operations team in Alconbury Hill. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will see you be responsible for the Marshalls Garden customer fulfilment operation, delivering best in class service at the appropriate cost to the business.Accountabilities:Ownership of the fulfilment sites to ensure they are operated in a safe manner for all colleagues.Organising, motivating, recruiting and leading a team of people to deliver high quality customer experienceIdentifying and implementing operational efficiencies to maximise spend whilst delivering high quality customer experience.Optimising and controlling costs to a budget to ensure profitability and high quality customer experience.Understanding and using ERP, OMS, WMS technologies to support an efficient operation.Manage the nursery operation to grow products to the requirements of Category Managers and maintain plants so they are perfect for delivery to customers. Keep waste to a minimum.Selecting and managing partner carriers to deliver all customer orders in perfect condition in a timely and costly manner.Designing, selecting and utilising the most appropriate packaging solutions to ensure customers receive their parcels and products in good condition, balancing costs.Work with suppliers so they support our customer experience and operational requirements.Be part of the senior team at Marshalls Garden to lead the business’s strategy and profitability growth.Experience Retail eCommerce customer fulfilment is essentialFulfilling live goods is desiredManagement and operation of a nursery is desiredExperience of managing a large operation team with multiple levels is essentialManaging costs to a budget is essentialUnderstanding and developing systems to enhance the operation is essentialIT KnowledgeSignificant use of ERP, WMS and OMS systemsUse of reporting tools for team managementMicrosoft packages - Google tools
