MEICA EngineerDue to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a MEICA Engineer to join one of the UK's leading construction and engineering solutions company on a long term contract basis. This is a long term Contract role with IR35 to be determined pending determination.The Ideal Candidate needs to be an experienced MEICA Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and civil interface within the wastewater and infrastructure sectors. This role involves taking the client’s preliminary requirements from concept through to installation and commissioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical design development, subcontractor management, and overseeing on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop mechanical designs, including P&ID creation, HAZOP studies, hazard assessments in construction, and design risk assessments.Create and refine mechanical and civil design drawings to meet project requirements.Lead the design of wastewater M&E assets such as pumping stations, CSOs, and related civil structures.Select and size equipment (e.g., pumps, mixers, pipework) to meet project specifications.Provide technical input for tender and subcontract documentation.Conduct pre-start subcontractor meetings, outline project expectations, and manage ongoing communication.Assess project forecasts and track progress to completion.Manage on-site activities, including mechanical isolation, approval of mechanical RAMS, and sign-off on mechanical testing and inspections.Develop and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure quality control.Collaborate with the contract delivery teams on cost-to-complete and budget reviews.Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best terms for the project.Prepare and manage detailed project programmes and ensure alignment with subcontractor schedules.QualificationsHNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineProven experience in mechanical design, particularly within wastewater or infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of P&ID development, equipment sizing, and selection for M&E assets.
