Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Dungannon Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum Exciting Opportunity: Mechanical Design Engineer in Dungannon! About Our Client: Our client, a leading engineering company based in Dungannon, is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This role involves designing and developing innovative mechanical systems and components, providing an excellent opportunity for creativity and career growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems for new and existing projects. Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using advanced CAD software. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design specifications are met and production requirements are integrated. Ensure designs are optimized for functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Participate in product testing and validation to ensure designs meet operational standards and performance targets. Provide innovative solutions to design challenges, while troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues. Prepare and maintain documentation, including design specifications, project plans, and progress reports. Stay current with technological advancements and recommend design improvements based on emerging industry trends. Qualifications and Skills: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in mechanical design, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Experience in designing for manufacturability, ensuring designs meet cost, performance, and quality objectives. Familiarity with various materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., sheet metal, plastic, or machining). Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a strong analytical mindset. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential design improvements.
