What we need We are looking for an energetic, team focused, supportive Enterprise Production Supervisor who will support the running of our FabricWorks Enterprise.  You will help support the development of our enterprise in accordance with our shared aim of creating a sustainable business model, understanding that the success of this will support the charity, the enterprise and many women that access our charity.  You will be supported by the Fabricworks Enterprise Manager and CEOs, work alongside the General Manager and manage the production team, volunteers and course tutors.    You will supervise and support production by working closely with our production team. Made up of women that have faced barriers into work, you will work in a supportive capacity to increase their knowledge, efficiency, speed and confidence through your support.  You will impart your industry standard skill and knowledge of high quality finishing techniques needed to work to a high level from a range of products from homeware items, to women's wear both premium and luxury.  You will support all our production team to continue their professional development. Focusing development in accordance with professional skills required in the wider textile and garment manufacturing industry. You will help us increase capacity, maintain high standards and quality control items, whilst ensuring on-time and efficient delivery of quality products on a production floor. About you You are team focused, energetic, friendly and welcoming, efficient with time planning, organised and thorough. You have production experience and share our ambition to expand our production enterprise into a profitable, successful model.  You will be a creative, accomplished maker, very experienced in manufacturing a wide range of garments, textile items and soft furnishings. You have a broad knowledge of fabrics, finishings and construction techniques and know how to cost production work accurately. You have worked in textile production, and are familiar with working to a tight deadline.  You relish the challenge of undertaking varied commissions and take great pride in helping others realise their creative ambitions. You are naturally inclined to support others around you.    Perhaps you have worked in fashion production, but want to work somewhere with more ethical values. You might have experience in teaching sewing to others, and want to work somewhere where your high quality teaching can support others gaining employment. Perhaps you have run your own brand, and now want to learn more about the charity sector.  Calm, adaptable and nurturing, you prioritise the well-being of our production team and learners. You understand the enterprise is nothing without the women who work for it, and therefore know that creating a supportive working environment is imperative for efficient working.    Please view the Recruitment Pack link below for more details and email your cover letter and CV to [email protected] https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LDWyLptbdl2e50V16HeJzl2NeRbRBeZP/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=103704373446953790185&rtpof=true&sd=true KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Enterprise Support Administration and Studio management Support the overall daily running of the FabricWorks enterprise, alongside the Enterprise Manager.  Ensure the maintenance of an accessible, efficient, pleasant working environment within the studio.  Develop and implement production policies and procedures. Be aware of good practices in First Aid, Fire and Health and Safety, and Equal Opportunities matters for the SIT programme, reporting defective equipment or bringing matters to the attention of the Enterprise Manager, General Manager & CEOs as appropriate. Manage equipment maintenance and material stock.    Commissions and Production team support Support the Enterprise Manager in managing the incoming commissions efficiently. Establishes priorities to ensure the manufacturing team works most efficiently.  To work alongside the Enterprise Manager to develop samples with the production team and evaluate costs and construction. Delegates manufacturing tasks so that the team can meet production deadlines. An adaptive approach to instructions and production based on each commission/maker's skill sets. Manages the efforts of manufacturing workers on the production floor. Supervise and support the production team in their making, demonstrating sewing techniques and construction methods if needed, ensuring high-quality production whilst supporting the women in their learning and making.  Communicates expectations to production workers and appraises their performance. Keep an up-to-date-work schedule, shared and understood with the production team who have varying levels of English. Reports on team performance to Enterprise Manager. Makes recommendations about ways to improve production efficiency and reduce costs. Implements recommended manufacturing cost reduction strategies. Working with the Enterprise Manager and team to create costings for products. Support the production team in working efficiently, and in learning new time saving, manufacturing methods. Helps trains new production workers to perform their duties Checks manufacturing equipment and control points to ensure efficient workflow is maintained. Support with production where needed, assisting with sewing, pattern cutting and garment construction.  Support production team in creating their own invoices.  Nurtures cooperation and communication within the production team and other departments.
