Reinsurance Analyst Summary of role New exciting and progressive role supporting the Reinsurance Officer in the development of the UK & European reinsurance function. Front line liaison with internal stakeholders to implement reinsurance procedures and working with external parties on the procurement and management of reinsurance placements. You will also collaborate with various teams internally to assist in enhancing reinsurance reporting tools and to improve on-going monitoring of placements. Ideally we are looking for a candidate with 3-5 years’ experience in ceded reinsurance who has strong communication skills to join a growing company with strong financial backing.

You will Develop and maintain relationships with the business’s MGAs, brokers, and reinsurers. Develop a strong understanding of reinsurance portfolio and the supporting reinsurance placements. Assist in the implementation of reinsurance procedures, working with teams across the business to ensure adherence and the implementation of appropriate controls. On a monthly basis manage and update approved market list, researching and gathering data on reinsurance markets as required. Take the lead on completing quarterly collateral calculations and making subsequent cash calls. Collaborate with colleagues across the business in the gathering and analysis of data to support reinsurance placements. Support the Due Diligence and Underwriting teams in assessing reinsurance structures along with terms and conditions on new and renewing programs. Review proportional and non-proportional reinsurance contracts to ensure agreed reinsurance terms and structures have been correctly and accurately documented. Engage with internal stakeholders in Finance, Actuarial and Technical Accounts to assist in the knowledge transfer of completed reinsurance placements. In conjunction with the CAT Modelling team, on a quarterly basis assist in the review of CAT exposure, including gross to net exposure calculations. Responding to outwards reinsurance technical reinsurer queries from reinsurers and brokers. Take responsibility for the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for internal management information purposes. Assist teams across the business in gathering reinsurance data to support Board reports and external regulatory submissions. Assist in the development and delivery of reinsurance strategy to manage risk Co-ordinate and calculate adjustments to and commutations of reinsurance contracts. Assist in the identification of all potential risks (credit, market, operations) related to reinsurance activities and support its risk management framework.

You will need: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a ceded reinsurance or related function. Experience with reinsurance systems would be preferable. Ability to understand and interpret complex outwards reinsurance programs. Highly competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Good organisational skills, time management and ability to work to strict deadlines. Ability to multi-task and work in an environment with changing priorities. Attention to detail. Educated to degree level preferably in Economics, Finance, Business or Insurance, Commencement or progress with CII Studies desirable but not essential.
