MISSIONWe're seeking a Construction Planner to manage project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking for our European capital expenditure projects which will have a combined value of €3 billion over the next 7 years.Reporting to the Regional Head of Delivery, part of the Major Builds Delivery Team and working closely with Colt Engineering, Project Management, Sales and Commercial team members, you will be responsible for establishing the master programme using COLT DCS standard templates in conformance with key delivery milestones set out in the business plan and customer agreements, and tracking progress throughout the project to ensure all critical dates are achieved.We are also open to candidates in France and Germany, so please apply if you are in these locations and interested in the position.OUTCOMESUnderstand key commercial milestones to develop a master project schedule and monitor progress across the full project duration to ensure completion in accordance with all Colt business objectives. Inform all consultants, contractors, vendors and stakeholders of key dates and secure their cooperation in making timely submissions and preparing necessary documentation to facilitate approvals.Remain informed about market conditions, lead-times, resource and labour demands or regulatory factors that could impact project delivery. Provide advice internally during the pre-construction phase to appropriately forecast the design schedule, early long-lead orders and realistic expectation for the construction period including cost-effective phasing strategies.Liaise with other engineering functions, external consultants and contractors and to assist in the preparation and evaluation of work method planning to optimise the execution plan on the most cost effective basis.Regularly visit the site, maintain current and detailed knowledge of the project critical path schedule, verifying progress and managing complex logistical discussions with contractors and vendors, driving and representing the Colt DCS position and providing appropriate advice to suppliers on sequencing requirements and approval process of Colt DCS; scrutinise and validate their proposals against all project milestones and objectives.Review proposed changes for potential schedule or execution risk, conduct analysis, explore options and negotiate to refute or minimize potential claims for extension of time or delay damages with consultants, contractors and suppliers.Ensure scheduling anticipates preparations necessary for effective and efficient transition into operations.Regularly prepare bespoke schedule reporting tailored to address the needs of investors, customers and other stakeholders, documenting risks, variations, delays or potential delays and proactive recovery strategies, decision deadlines and up-coming milestones.THE SKILLS / EXPERTISE YOU BRINGAt least 5 years’ experience in construction for a mission-critical industry / recent data centre planning scheduling & contract administration experience for at least one entire project lifecycle of the project.Proficient in the use of Primavera P6, hands on experience in MS PPT, MS Excel, MS Project. Use of PowerBI is desirable.Understanding and working knowledge of engineering disciplines such as MEP, Structural, Civil, ELV, IBMS etc.This person shall be detail-oriented with a proactive focus on problem solving, possess strong organizational skills, demonstrate initiative and the ability to work accurately under pressure and be a self-starter that can excel with little direction.Excellent communication skills and excellent stakeholder / customer management and people management Skills.You will share in a culture of teamwork and passion for continuous improvement to work with all other functions in a proactive and energetic way to promote the Engineering & Delivery agenda. Must be able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Must be able to operate in an open management style and structure with an emphasis on team working and within a global matrix. The role requires a proactive engagement with other Colt’s functions, embracing fully the “One Team” vision.Ability to travel at short notice to visit project sites or existing facilities where required.Have a minimum qualification of full time graduate in engineering from recognised university or higher. Additional qualification in PMP shall be desirable.
