Mechanical Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an Mechanical Engineer to join our client's developing engineering department. This role is based at their manufacturing facility in Hixon, Staffordshire. The role is on a temp to perm basis. Our client are an independently owned business, who have become a UK leading manufacturer in their field and can boast a global customer base. The company are now looking to develop the next generation of equipment within their factory, and take the business to new levels. Mechanical Engineer key job details: * Standard hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 17:00. 36hrs per week. * Fridays may be worked occasionally to conduct maintenance duties during factory downtimes. * Pay rate: £20 (£37.5k) to 22ph (£41k) D.O.E, with further earning potential upon permanent contract offering * Temp to perm Mechanical Engineer key responsibilities: * Planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance on various components * Fabrication of components and parts for the manufacturing machines * Reading of mechanical drawings * Occasional welding duties * Mechanical fault finding * Keep maintenance logs up to date following each activity * Assist with the development of new systems and machines to implement into the factory * Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations * Maintain a stock of relevant spare equipment Mechanical Engineer person specification: * Ideally, you will hold either a relevant electrical engineering qualifications, or have completed a relevant apprenticeship * Fabrication experience is ideal * Must be able to work from engineering drawings * Have a good understanding of health and safety protocols * Must be comfortable working in a team If you're interested in this Mechanical Engineer vacancy, please apply by clicking the apply now button, or by contacting Patrick at IAP Recruitment
