Floating Support Worker Roles Available: Downpatrick and Newry (Full Time, Permanent) Belfast (Full time, Fixed Term (Until January 2025) Newry (Part Time, 28 hours, Permanent) Belfast (Job Share, 17.5 Hours, Permanent) Salary : £12.98 per hour, £23620 per annum (pro rata part time) Hours of work – Full Time: 35 Hours per week (Working hours may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays and may change to reflect the needs of the young people.) Benefits Company Pension contribution of 4% of salary 36 days per annum, increasing by 1 per year of service up to a max of 41 days per annum. Who we are looking for: Registered with the Northern Ireland Care Council (NISCC) Valid Driver’s License and vehicle 1 years’ experience of working with young people in supported housing or community-based support or similar environment OR Degree in Social Work & 6 months experience of working with young people in supported housing. Understanding and knowledge of homelessness, mental health and substance use. Ability to practice in line with company ethos and values. About the role: We are seeking a Floating Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will: Establish a positive relationship with Young People and to support them to create a safe home environment. Provide holistic support (on a one to one and group basis) to all young people accessing the service, ensuring the support meets their needs. Work alongside and support the Housing Worker to provide practical and hands on support regarding budgeting, cooking, cleaning and running a home in conjunction with the young people’s support plans to ensure a person centred approach. Support the Housing Worker to ensure accommodation is well maintained, and is safe for young people to live in. Support the move in and move on process. Provide young people with support in order for them to transition into independent living, helping them to maintain their tenancy while assisting them to develop the confidence and skills required to live independently. Ensure a coordinated approach is adapted whereby young people are provided with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge and work as part of a team to carry out day to day tasks in order to help the young people reach their desired goals. Provide a service that nurtures and encourages development. Ensure that young people’s ideas, thoughts and feedback are recorded, responded to and actioned. Feedback to line management or relevant subgroups where appropriate. Support and engage young people to be good neighbors and assist in the resolution of neighbourhood disputes.
