Position Overview: We are seeking an Experienced Estimator to join our established team of professionals in our Cambridge office. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to advance their career in a stable and growing organization. You will play a crucial role in our success, working on projects valued from £2 million to circa £30 million, with the flexibility to work in different offices depending on location. Responsibilities: * Produce cost plans from RIBA stage 0 to stage 3, with the ability to price from first principles. * Conduct detailed take-offs from drawings using Autodesk Design Review to develop accurate cost plans and quantity checks. * Lead the tender enquiry process, ensuring comprehensive allocation of elemental BQ items into work packages. * Compare subcontractors and identify scope gaps, collaborating with the supply chain to offer value engineering options. * Price site preliminaries and provide key insights on risks and opportunities at tender settlement. * Use BCIS data for benchmarking, TPIs for inflation forecasting, and apply location factorisation. * Price competitive tenders under the direction of the Estimating Director. * Review contracts and commercial data, attending client meetings and presenting tender information to project teams. * Assess tender documents, completing ‘Enquiry Checklist’ to determine pricing levels. * Take off groundworks packages and complete ‘Risk and Opportunity’ registers. * Liaise with the buying department to obtain material quotations and price groundworks on a Labour, Plant, and Materials basis. * Conduct tender adjudication with the Commercial Director, pricing variations, and additions. * Create material lists and obtain and compare quotations, conducting site visits as necessary. Key Skills Required: * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages; experience with Causeway and Excel estimating software is desired. * Strong written and spoken English with a clear telephone manner for client interactions. * Demonstrated strong work ethic and commercial thinking abilities. * Team player capable of working under pressure.
