Copello are recruiting for a junior Surveillance Data Analyst to join our client who supports the aviation and maritime sectors with air traffic management services. The candidate would be expected to provide key analytical and reporting input to the In-service Assurance process for Electronic Surveillance Technical Services. As a Surveillance data analyst, you will need to have a sound understanding of statistical analysis methods and hold the ability to produce well documented, high quality technical reports. Along with this you will need strong communication and presentational skills to peers, management and customers. It is important that you can manage multiple concurrent analysis tasks to rigid timescales and be able to manage and manipulate large volumes of complex data, working to minimal supervision. Essential: * Educated to degree level in a numerate subject (which could be scientific or engineering- oriented), or equivalent. * Demonstrate Supervised/Unsupervised use of Statistical modelling and analysis applications. * Proven skills in Data management/curation – such as manipulation and analysis of complex, high volume data sets. * Experienced in Data visualisation of insights drawn from data analysis and presentation to wide audiences – technical and non-technical * Hold presentation of statistical probability and error distributions in graphical form Desirable: * The use of the EUROCONTROL SASS-C software application * Familiarity with the structure of the EUROCONTROL ASTERIX and particularly: ASTERIX CAT020, CAT034 and CAT048 structures * Familiarity with EUROCONTROL Standard for Radar Surveillance in En-Route and Major Terminal Areas: SUR.ET1.ST01.1000-STD-01-01, and associated performance parameter metrics * Familiarity with EUROCAE ED-142: Technical Specification for WAM Systems, and associated performance parameter metrics * Familiarity with basic Air Traffic Control Radar and WAM Surveillance System architectures. Note: Training in the use of the EUROCONTROL SASS-C software will be provided along with Training in the basic architectures of Air Traffic Control Radar and WAM Surveillance systems. Responsibilities * Complete discrete Analysis and Reporting work-package tasks * Use a specialised statistics-based analysis software application (EUROCONTROL SASS-C) to provide performance analysis of, and reporting on, Primary/Secondary Radar Electronic Surveillance systems * Carry out meticulous manipulation and conversion of large volumes of complex data collected from the above Surveillance systems, before input into the SASS-C analysis application * Summarise measured performance, derived from the analysis, against performance parameter metrics prescribed in Regulatory Requirements * Liaise with the Technical Service Authority and Engineering Authority team for Electronic Surveillance, when necessary, to ensure any issues with supplied data sets are resolved * Responsible for the delivery of the Analysis and Reporting work-package to the assigned deadline * The work-package output from the SDA will be a key contributor to periodic certification assessments made on the above Electronic Surveillance systems Please note that SC Clearance will be required for this role If you are interested please apply and we will be in touch for a further conversation
