We work for clients such as the Office for National Statistics, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Transport for London, and the Department for Energy and Net Zero. Our work feeds into vital national statistics such as the latest crime figures and the Consumer Prices Index. We also work for academic clients such as the Institute of Social and Economic Research at Essex University, running large-scale longitudinal studies, including Understanding Society, the largest longitudinal household panel of its kind in the world.Purpose of the role:We help clients design, test and refine survey questions before programming and rigorously quality assuring all questionnaires before any study is launched in the field. As a Project Manager focused on Questionnaire Development you’ll coordinate the development, programming, quality assurance and delivery of all the questionnaires associated with Understanding Society. Reporting to the Project Director, you’ll act as the bridge between Verian’s Understanding Society research team, our survey programmers and field staff, and our clients at the University of Essex. Working to demanding schedules, your goal will be to ensure the questionnaire development process runs efficiently to timetable and budget, while always thinking about ways to improve the process.Main Responsibilities:Manage delivery of multiple and complex questionnaires concurrently by drafting questionnaire work plans and delivery schedules at the start of each survey cycle, keeping these up to date during the lifetime of a survey, monitoring progress against key dates, and identifying, managing and logging delivery risk.Act as a trusted point of contact for our clients through regular and proactive communication which translates their requirements into practical delivery and keeps them informed of development risks, delays and mitigation plans.Manage all quality assurance processes associated with the questionnaires by ensuring the right resources are in place, undertaking quality assurance tasks directly, overseeing other team members undertaking quality assurance, fully documenting all processes, and identifying efficiencies or innovation.Build capability by developing and delivering high quality guidance and training to on board new staff and refresh knowledge of staff involved in this role.Be the main point of contact with our offshore scripting team ensuring allocation of sufficient scripting resources, clear lines of communication with the research team, and early identification and escalation of any technical or other barriers to delivery.
