CNC Turner

Contek Recruitment are currently working with a precision engineering company, based in Ulverston. Due to continued growth, they are on the hunt for a skilled CNC Turner to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Programming, setting, and operating a variety of CNC Star Sliding Head Lathes, usiong Fanuc controls.
• Working to tight tolerances.
• Producing high precision sub contract components in batches from 10 to 100,000 off.
• Producing parts from various general engineering materials and exotic materials.
• Operating and setting parts in various sizes of material from 2mm - 42mm.

Skills Required:

• Previous experience setting and operating fixedor sliding head CNC lathes (The ability to program is advantageous but not essential).
• Previous experience working within a high precision manufacturing environment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Right First-Time approach with a high level of attention to detail.
• Understanding and use of precision engineering measuring equipment.
• Must be self-motivated, dedicated and able to work under own initiative.
• Understanding of tooling and machining methods.

Training will be provided for candidates who are looking for progression.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (7am until 3:30pm) and Friday (7am until 1pm)

Overtime: Overtime is on offer for evenings and weekends at time-and-a-half, and at double-time on Sundays.
