We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our dedicated team and to play a crucial role in delivering exceptional residential projects.

The role is key in securing projects through driving detailed, specific and thorough understanding of the tender information.

A deep understanding of construction processes, materials and market trends will help ensure our proposals are both precise and profitable.

The role will require you to coordinate with various internal teams throughout the preconstruction stages and to provide support and expertise during the construction and delivery stages.

Key Estimator Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tenders to be accomplished by gathering detailed information and requirements, setting priorities.
  • Proactive involvement in establishing the Bid Strategy to win assigned tenders.
  • Bid manage assigned tenders to ensure a robust tender is produced to meet tender deliverables and timescale.
  • Prepares construction budget by studying design information; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each element of the projects.
  • Obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials;
  • Identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating prices.
  • Tender reviews, analysis & presentations.
  • Resolving any cost discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
  • Preparing tender reports
  • Maintains quality service and contributes to the Griggs Client Journey
  • Supporting commercial team & regular review of the supply chain.


Essential Experience


  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as Estimator / Senior Estimator (high end residential experience would be beneficial)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • Experience using Procore software would be beneficial but not essential
  • A proactive and organised approach with the ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills including experience in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word & Outlook.
