SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Barking & Dagenham) Location: Barking & Dagenham Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: Competitive, based on experience Empowering Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a vibrant and inclusive school in Barking & Dagenham. This is a full-time, long-term position with the opportunity for professional development and growth. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Implement tailored educational plans, ensuring all children can access the curriculum effectively. Help manage behaviour and provide emotional support to children with additional needs. Work collaboratively with the SENCo, teachers, and external specialists to meet the individual needs of pupils. Support children with their social and emotional development, encouraging positive interactions. Assist with classroom activities, resources, and maintaining classroom organisation. Requirements: Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting. Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. A relevant qualification in education or SEN support is desirable but not essential.
