The Role of Custom Solutions Manager As an integral part of the overall Technical Team, you will use your experience, knowledge, skill, and ability to work both with our internal team and external partners to develop new custom solutions & enhance existing ones. You will also be part of the decision-making process, making recommendations regarding capability, enhancement & technical matters driven by existing and new market demands. In return we will offer you a competitive salary from £55,000 per annum dependent upon experience, 23 days holiday which increases with service & the option to purchase more, increased pension contribution, BUPA private healthcare with the option to add family members, 3 x life assurance & EAP, companywide bonus scheme, free onsite parking useful for travel from Luton Airport. Key responsibilities of Custom Solutions Manager * Working closely with the Technical Director, Head of Product/NPD, and the External Sales Organization, you’ll focus on design, prototype, build, and development of competitive custom solutions for a variety of scenarios. These will be primarily based based upon existing Europa Low Voltage Product ranges. * Ensuring all designs are fully compatible with relevant standards; including, but not limited to, BS EN 61439, and can be installed within the requirements of the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. * Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities for solution selling and to enhance customer engagement. * Source and evaluate new and existing products for their suitability for custom applications and installations within designated markets. * Oversee and assist with the production of detailed quotations, including component costs and estimated assembly time. * Oversee and assist with the production of required Assembly and Schematic drawings. * Oversee and assist with confirmation of delivery schedule bases upon in-house and bought-in components, aligned with current production schedules. * Ensure a full product file is created and maintained for each solution. * Develop in conjunction with the Head of Product/NPD, a product roadmap based on existing and future custom solutions, ensuring these developments are compliant, whilst remaining inventive and maximizing opportunities. This will run in parallel with standard Europa NPD. * Improve efficiencies by working alongside our NPI/NPD process team to continually enhance your department. Desired Skills & Experience * University degree or HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline / relevant experience. * A strong understanding and working knowledge of electrical components (both domestic and industrial). * Ideally a history of working alongside automation, HMI, IoT applications in electromechanical applications. * Have a thorough understanding of relevant applicable UK product standards and overview of the UK wiring regulations. * Experienced across different markets and applications. * An inquisitive and forward-looking nature, and a collaborative style. * Flexible and innovative thinking. * Experience of introducing new technology into existing systems to enhance an existing service. * Be commercially astute and able to consider and effectively communicate cost impacts on decisions and proposals. * An ability to represent the team both internally and externally, potentially providing industry thought leadership. * Be resourceful and have strong problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and adapting those skills to a team environment.
