Who We Want We are looking for an exceptional Head of Sales to join our team. As the first dedicated Sales role in the business, you will have the opportunity to develop strategy, build a team, and help us to become a leading venue for incredible experiences. We want you to find us the best opportunities and the coolest collaborations. You will be driving the private hire side of the business, using your extensive contacts to help put Big Penny Social on the map.

You’ll be able to tell us about your successes in delivering creative, innovative sales strategies and revenue for multi-use venues, and your experience will speak for itself. What You’ll Be Responsible For Creating a sales strategy for existing spaces at Big Penny Social, helping to steer decisions around our expansion and how best to create new spaces that will drive future growth. Being a Big Penny brand ambassador. You will bring our values to life in every interaction with Big Penny team members and guests; present and potential. Creating packages, sales strategies and assets for groups and private hires, working closely with the Head of Creative and our Marketing team. Proactively seeking new opportunities and partnerships, in line with the Big Penny vision and strategy, and building on existing relationships to upsell and cross-sell. Converting incoming enquiries for private hires in collaboration with the Creative Events team. Researching, planning, and attending relevant showcases, trips and other industry events that will influence Big Penny events strategy and execution. Providing exceptional experiences for site visits with potential clients. Keeping updated of trends within the sector; making sure the group and private hire offer is relevant and desirable for changing consumer needs and wants. Maintaining the contact database. Ensuring accurate and prompt financial reporting for your areas of responsibility.

Who You Are As well as your prior sales experience in multi-use venues, you’ll have: Experience of selling profitably, owning sales negotiations, maximising sales, achieving targets and writing sales strategies. Demonstrable knowledge of the local venue market and key venue finding agents. Ability to work with clients on all levels and with all areas of the business. Experience of delivering a sales budget, P+Ls & financial reports and liaising with finance teams Great cross-functional working skills with the ability to think on your feet with analytical thinking Results driven approach – a positive, proactive and proven achiever Excellent communication and listening skills –friendly, humble, creative and confident

Unique Role Attributes Standard office days are Monday to Friday, with one day per week permitted to work from home (excluding Thursdays).

It may be required to work on some evenings and weekends to meet your areas of responsibility, and we recognise that this flexibility may be required both ways.

You may also work as Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Head of Business Development, VP Sales or similar and as well as multi-use venues, you will likely come from a background that includes restaurants, events, catering, hospitality, hotels, pubs, entertainment etc.
