As a result of new project wins they are seeking to hire an MEP Commissioning Manager with a Mechanical bias for a major residential scheme in Canary Wharf.

Description:
To provide commissioning management support to the MEP Contractor, who are delivering three new towers of student accomodation in Canary Wharf. Focusing on quality in all aspects of commissioning management, including: planning, programming, reporting, collaborative working and witnessing.
Salary:
£80,000 - £90,000 + Package, OR £450 Per Day
General Duties:
As a Mechanical Commissioning Manager, you will manage and drive the commissioning process and lead the on-site functional testing. To succeed in this role, it is important that you have experience in technical buildings, good communication, and people skills and resourceful
Responsibilities:
* Manage the commissioning process with the contractors and professional teams ensuring that effective communication takes place within the wider project management team. Manage the proper compliance of the project process at each stage.
* Perform commissionability and design reviews.
* Implement and manage quality assurance (QA) and quality controls (QC) procedures with respect to all aspects of the commissioning process.
* Issue weekly commissioning report.
* Write, compile and provide technical input to the formal change control processes.
* Ensure that regular reviews of construction against the approved design take place and any mitigation/recovery plans are implemented.
* Attend and report on commissioning and testing as appropriate.
* Ensure that all plant/systems have been fully commissioned / inspected in line with the contract specifications.
* Monitor and advise when all the commissioning documentation has been reviewed and signed off by the appointed consultants for the project.
* Review commissioning data against design parameters.
* Co-ordinate, plan and schedule training with the project team and ensure all documentation is created and approved in ample time.
* Organise, chair and minute commissioning meetings, ensuring actions are issued, managed and closed out.
* Review and assist sub-contractors in the development of all project related QA/QC documentation.
* Write test script and integrated systems test (IST) scripts and co-ordinate, ensuring input from all parties throughout the project.
* Witness on site functional testing of plant, equipment and systems.
* Ensure that all appropriate commissioning handover documentation has been reviewed and approved prior to handover.
* Ensure that commissioning defects are communicated properly and dealt with.
* Compile ‘Close out’ documentation.
* Create and manage handover commissioning checklists and close-out report.
* Pass comment on contractors SOO (sequence of operations) schedules.
* Pass comment on O&M manuals produced by the contractor.
Key Skills include, but are not limited to:
* Technical engineering excellence in Mechanical, Electrical or BMS engineering
* Experience working for MEP Contractors
* Have strong knowledge of MEP but with a mechanical bias
* Experience in the residential sector is preferable
