We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer with electrical and mechanical qualifications to join the team in Spalding .
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will have experience of breakdown and preventative maintenance, working with the Engineering Team Leaders and the wider engineering team ensuring production targets are met by providing the appropriate technical support.
Working Hours: 4 days on - 4 days off - 6:00am - 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
Attend daily meetings as required and drive recommendations and action
Carry out high level static and dynamic maintenance on all equipment.
Input into continuous improvement initiatives.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards at all times.
Assist the Site Services team leader / Manager when required with projects
Assist Engineering Manager to ensure site is fully compliant with Safety, Health and Environmental legislation.
Coordinate activities in cases of emergencies such as Fire Alarms or Chemical spillages
Communicate effectiveness of repairs
Communicate to site the impact of operational issues and carry out effective control to prevent further downstream failures (e.g., Control of trade effluent plant)
Responsible that the company Health, Safety, Environment and Hygiene policies are adhered to.
You Will Need:
A formal engineering apprenticeship and relevant academic qualifications to suit your experience is essential for this role
Steam boiler, pumps, motors, and gearboxes knowledge.
Proven hands on mechanical and electrical experience in an FMCG chilled environment
Highly self-motivated, have enthusiasm for achieving exceptional results and be able to work effectively both on your own initiative and as part of a wider team.
Experience of working with sophisticated meat processing and packing equipment
Clear understanding and awareness of legislative, health and safety and environmental requirements.
Understanding of continuous improvement would be an advantage to drive the change from a “reactive culture” to a “proactive culture”
Coaching and developing technical skills and knowledge in the maintenance teams.
