Our client, an establish privately owned biotech company that manufacture high purity biopharmaceutical products currently have an opportunity for a Senior Process Development Scientist to join their team.  The role will be responsible for  synthesising a range of peptides and peptide conjugates to support the polyclonal antibofy programme.  The role will also co-ordinate the delivery of a variety of polyclonal antibody projects, through process development and technical transfer into the GMP production facility. Responsibilities: The main duties include: Lead the synthesis and purification activities to produce high quality peptide products   Co-ordinate process development of polyclonal antibody projects (and project re-makes) to enable smooth transition into GMP production Provide a high level of specialist technical knowledge and hands-on training Prepare project specific development documentation to a high standard e.g. SOPs, development protocols and associated reports, batch records Adhere to company Quality and Health and Safety Policies Skills/Experience Required: Essential: Degree in relevant scientific discipline Extensive hands-on bench experience in peptide synthesis, purification and analysis Extensive experience in downstream processing and scale up, to include: column chromatography, Tangential Flow Filtration Experience in protein analytical methods i.e. SDS-PAGE, protein assays, UV assays, HPLC Competent in word processing, spreadsheet and database entry skills Experience in writing technical documents, e.g. development reports, batch records, SOPs Desirable Use of PurePep Chorus Peptide Synthesiser Experience in bioconjugation of peptide Use of AKTA (or similar) system in protein purification and scale-up Experience in technology transfer of products/processes Knowledge of ELISA methodology for protein analysis Personal Attributes: Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent attention to detail The ability to work independently and within a team environment Ability to solve complex problems with focus on continuous improvement Ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands Please apply online in the first instance.
