Customer Service & Despatch Coordinator Salary: Circa £23,500 - £25,000 (FTE) depending on experience Location: Steeton, BD20 Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday (with some flexibility, school hours considered) Our client, an award-winning bakery manufacturer founded in 1899, is seeking a Customer Service & Despatch Coordinator to join their team. The Position: This is an exciting opportunity for a methodical, bright individual with a keen eye for detail who can take responsibility for the order processing and despatching of goods from our manufacturing plant. You will play a key role in achieving right-first-time shipment performance and ensuring smooth customer service operations. Key Responsibilities: * Processing customer orders and sending out order confirmations. * Despatching orders and booking in orders from customers. * Arranging transport and organising haulage logistics. * Processing delivery notes and filing all relevant paperwork, including picking lists and order confirmations. * Dealing with customer queries promptly and efficiently via phone, email, and other communication methods. * Logging claims for missed or lost deliveries with the delivery company and ensuring deliveries are on track. * Liaising with van sales representatives to coordinate delivery areas for the following week. * Answering telephones, handling enquiries, or transferring calls to the relevant person/department. * Collaborating with relevant departments to ensure smooth operations. Ideal Candidate Attributes: * Professional telephone manner and strong customer relations skills. * Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise workloads efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. * Methodical, with excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills. * Ability to plan, organise, and communicate at all levels within the business. * Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing business is highly desirable. This role would ideally suit an individual with prior experience in customer service and despatch coordination, particularly within a manufacturing setting.
