Key duties
As commercial account executives, your key duties will focus on revenue generation:
Managing & develop a book of commercial business;
Working with introducers generating and nurturing thriving new business pipeline(s);
Ensuring timely renewals and healthy renewal/retention ratio; and
Proactively exploiting cross-selling opportunities.
Required experience
To thrive, you’ll need extensive (a minium of 2 years’) commercial products experience and knowledge, in an executive or senior account handler role.
Preferably you will have dealt with clients withing the hospitality or construction and liability spaces.
Acturis broking systems experience would be highly desirable.
What the role needs - crucial qualities
To succeed, you’ll be an innate relationship builder – effortlessly developing and maintaining strong, effective relationships with clients, insurers, underwriters and colleagues.
They have excellent relationships in place with introducers and support you with a steady stream of new business qualified leads.
With strong commercial account executive experience, you appreciate the importance of delivering outstanding client service.
You’re driven by meeting (and preferably exceeding) clients’ needs.
You’ve built a proven sales track record and can demonstrate that you’ve achieved measurable growth in your current position.
You’ll need a full driving licence. It would be useful if you have access to a car for business use.
Personal skills
An experienced and tenacious commercial account executive, you’ll develop your skills to an exciting new level.
To thrive, you’ll need to be a confident and accomplished communicator, by phone and face-to-face.
Highly organised, you’re great at time management, rigorous at keeping on top of your (timely) admin.
As you’ll assume greater autonomy and responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail will be crucial.
You’ll also need to be expert at organising your own workload and managing your own diary.
Required qualifications
You must be Cert CII qualified, working towards it, or motivated to do so.
Diploma in Insurance would be useful but is not essential.
