Human Resources Manager

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an HR Manager to join one of the UK's leading shipbuilding & maritime businesses based in Southampton. The HR Manager will oversee all HR Operations ensuring they align with business goals. This role comes with significant exposure to the Board of Directors and senior managers across the business, shaping HR policy and bringing in new ideas & solutions. Reporting to the CEO, key responsibilities are: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategyBridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issuesLeading recruitment, end-to-end recruitment and selection processSupport current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capitalDevelop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organizationNurture a positive working environmentWork with line managers to create, supervise and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performanceAssess training needs to apply and monitor training programsFirst point of contact for all apprenticeships and responsible for managing apprenticeshipsResponsible for the company’s pensionsResponsible for drafting, filing and maintaining all HR documents including offer letters, contracts, workforce spreadsheets, policies, procedures, letters etcEnsure that the Company’s handbook is legally compliant and up to date Report to management and provide decision support through HR metricsEnsure legal compliance throughout human resource managementBuild strong relationships with external suppliers, fostering trust and promoting collaborationHandle confidential matters with discretionApplicant RequirementsExperience in the role, preferably as a HR Generalist, Manager or Business Partner Ideally CIPD qualification or equivalent experiencePeople oriented and results drivenExperience of overseeing apprenticeship schemesKnowledge of HR Best Practices and Employment LawRelationship builder Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skillsExcellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skillsComfortable being 4 days offices based / 1 day from home
