Senior Microbiologist - PharmaceuticalLeicester – £30k - £40k basic plus bonus and benefits Scope:An opportunity has arisen to join the microbiology team as a Senior Microbiologist for a independent pharmaceutical company based in the midlands! The role of the job is to schedule, carry out and report approved tests and monitoring procedures used to assess the microbiological quality of non-sterile/ sterile pharmaceutical materials (unlicensed medicines, investigational medicinal products, licensed products) and production facilities.Responsibilities:Plan, carry out and report validation and testing of non-sterile/sterile products to meet agreed schedule, including in-process and finished products covering unlicensed medicines, investigational medicinal products, and Stryker antibiotic bone cement licensed products: Sterility test materials inside a gassed isolator by membrane filtration or direct inoculation Biological assays on antibiotics Endotoxin by KQCLPlan, perform (where appropriate) and report microbiological and physical monitoring of production facilities and equipment.Plan, carry out and report testing to support validation of sterile production facilities e.g. oven validation, isolator qualificationPlan, carry out and report testing of raw materials, arranging external testing when required.Plan, carry out and report testing of media fillsTo perform all laboratory activities safely, in accordance with GMP, and to agreed timelines.Prepare, select and control the storage of microbiological culture media.Co-ordinate the investigation of out of specification results, preparation of resulting reports and liaise with QA.Preparation or review of standard operational procedures.To deputise for the Microbiology Team Leader, and where appropriate attend meetings, schedule testing, review data and liaise with other departments as necessary.About You:Experience in a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory environment People-management skillsKnowledge of microbiology techniquesGood communications skills, written and oralAbility to organise work and meet agreed deadlinesSound judgement and ability to apply common senseAttention to detailProactiveIf you're interested in the above role then please click apply or get in touch to discuss further.
