As an Area Manager, you’ll make sure your site is running assmoothly as it should so that we can meet customer demand. You will be leadinga team that helps keep our operations safe, efficient, and of a high qualityand taking on a number of projects across our network to drive productivity. Key job responsibilities Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing Analyse and implement changes to keep quality and productivity at aconsistently high level Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity and increasequality of service for customers within your area of responsibility Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives, and put inplace actions to improve our operational excellence Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardise shiftpractices A day in the life You’ll work on a shift pattern at one of our sites, making sure it is asproductive as it can be. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture ofsafety and uphold quality and shift performance standards. You’ll also overseeprocess improvements within your area and drive implementation. A typical dayis varied, including everything from routine team management and dailyoperational responsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operationalcontingency tasks. You’ll also be a role model and mentor to new managers. About the team Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnershipwith third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking andcontinuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products intothe hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ deliveryexperience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions forour newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants. There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates processmillions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through thenight. We focus mostly on operations, with 247 shifts in most of ourlocations. Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ people work with Amazon Flex - a network ofdelivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customerexperience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways toovercome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbonfootprint, supported by a portfolio of cutting-edge vehicles (includingElectric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that. ### BASIC QUALIFICATIONSA degree Relevant experience in people management Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders,including your peers and leadership Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence businessdecisions Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques Experience working in another logistics environment Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) ina professional environment Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
