Senior Quantity Surveyor at Keltbray GroupJob SummaryAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of projects across our built environment division. You will lead a team of quantity surveyors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations and managing budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations.Key Responsibilities:Cost Management and Reporting:- Oversee commercial activities from contract award to final account, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.- Prepare and manage project budgets, working closely with your team to maintain financial control.- Assist in cost planning and management, including benchmarking and performance analysis, to drive continuous improvement.- Analyse cost performance data for monthly reports and identify opportunities to enhance cost efficiency.Change Management:- Manage budget adjustments and oversee the change control process, ensuring accurate financial tracking.- Conduct financial impact assessments for any changes and ensure they are implemented effectively.- Review revised drawings to identify changes and carry out measurements in line with contract requirements.Procurement:- Work closely with the Procurement Team to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project needs.- Manage the procurement and administration of subcontracts and special supplies, ensuring timely and accurate payments.- Approve subcontract orders, ensuring they meet project requirements and budget constraints.Sub-Contract/Special Supplies Administration:- Negotiate financial impacts with suppliers for compensation events, ensuring alignment with project goals.- Monitor economic factors such as inflation and currency fluctuations and adjust project forecasts accordingly.- Approve payment certificates for subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.Contractual Compliance, Quality, and Risk Management:- Ensure corporate governance is maintained across all projects, minimising commercial risks.- Identify potential cost risks and advise on strategies to mitigate them, keeping the project team informed.- Provide accurate monthly contract reviews and work with the Project Manager to achieve project performance targets.Team Collaboration and Development:- Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors, including Assistant, Trainee, and Graduate Surveyors.- Ensure your team accurately manages commercial budgets and contributes to overall project success.Essential skills required:Extensive experience in civil engineering subcontracting, particularly on large-scale projects.Strong knowledge of contractual requirements and experience managing various contract values.Ideally, degree-qualified, though relevant project experience with HNC/HND qualifications will also be considered.Proven ability to manage complex, high-value structures contracts within the London marketComprehensive understanding of all relevant contract forms and their applications.Equal opportunities:Keltbray are an equal opportunities employer, and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status or race, or is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable.
