Mechanical Production Engineer

Are you an experienced Mechanical Production Engineer with a passion for Continuous Improvement? We are looking for an engineer with expertise in Lean and Kaizen methodologies to join our clients team and play a key role in optimising their manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the implementation of new products into the manufacturing process, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production. * Serve as the mechanical lead for all New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring designs are manufacturable and cost-effective. * Apply Lean and Kaizen principles to drive continuous improvement, enhance efficiency, and reduce waste across the production process. * Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance. * Conduct and generate risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement safety measures. * Take responsibility for ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards in all manufacturing operations. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to ensure the successful launch and implementation of new products. * Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical issues within production processes to minimise downtime and improve efficiency. Skills & Experience Required: * Proven experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, including Lean and Kaizen. * Hands-on experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and the implementation of new products into manufacturing lines. * Ability to develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and risk assessments. * Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations in a manufacturing setting. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive process improvements and innovations. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
