VP Project Manager – IT Transformation | Northampton | Up to £90,000 + 20% Bonus


We are looking for an experienced VP Project Manager to spearhead large-scale IT transformation initiatives within a leading financial institution. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the program level, driving agile project delivery and making a substantial impact on the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead transformation projects using methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile for Enterprise (SaFe), Kanban, and ScrumBan to ensure effective project execution.
  • Utilize DevOps practices and tools like JIRA to enhance project delivery and streamline processes.
  • Manage software development and test automation, prioritizing tasks and executing projects at speed while ensuring quality and performance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a high-performing team environment through effective project staff management, mentoring, and communication with staff at all levels.
  • Influence business decisions and facilitate communication among stakeholders, driving analysis and resolution of complex operational and technology issues.
  • Ensure projects are compliant with governance frameworks, with a focus on improving overall project performance.
  • Drive transformational change initiatives, adapting strategies based on evolving project requirements.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading large-scale IT transformation initiatives, ideally within financial services or a top-tier consulting firm.
  • Expert knowledge in agile project delivery, including proficiency in Scrum, SaFe, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Fully competent in project estimating, planning, and risk management with a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and engage with diverse teams.
  • Working knowledge of project governance, portfolio management, and IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with the card payments industry and overall understanding of the financial services landscape is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master or equivalent experience in a Scrum Master role are desirable.
