OverviewWe're looking for a talented engineer who is looking for a meaningful next step in their career. You will be responsible for owning our codebase through our next stage of growth.About StairpayOur vision is a world where everyone can afford the home of their dreams. In order to get there we are building the technology that allows people to buy homes gradually.The problem we’re looking to solve is that it has never been more difficult for people to get onto the property ladder — younger generations, who represent the future of our societies, are overwhelmingly affected by this.Our early customer traction includes some of the largest real estate investors in the world, such as Blackstone.We’re backed at Pre-Seed level by leading early stage VCs and angel investors with experience in the real estate sector.What we’re looking for in our Engineering Lead?? You should ideally have at least 3-4 years of experience programming! We’re looking for someone to come in who’s excited to have the opportunity to take ownership and ultimately build and lead a team following our next fundraise?? Like working in small teams. As one of the first employees to join Stairpay, you’ll make the most of being agile? Experience developing production-scale applications. Familiarity with TypeScript is essential, Supabase and SvelteKit underpin most of our codebase so you are either already familiar with them or can demonstrate you could pick them up quickly??????? You are passionate about data. Everyone at the company learns SQL, and engineering is subject to that the most??????? You should be excellent at architecting solutions to problems and should be able to communicate your ideas clearly to the team?? You’ll be taking on lots of responsibility from day one, so it’s important you learn quicklyHere’s what you’ll be doing?? We think this is a unique opportunity to join as one of the earliest employees in a startup that’s going places. You’d be coming in and taking ownership of a fantastic product, and we’d hope to have you pushing code to production as soon as possible???? Our product is already in the hands of some of the biggest real estate investors in the world. Our top priority is making sure our product is stable for our existing customers and you will be responsible for this?? As we increase customer adoption we are always striving to improve and expand our product. When we do so, we always try to find out what the MVP looks like?? We like to learn from one another, and place a strong emphasis on the review/QA process. We encourage our team to “work from the right”, i.e. make a start on any outstanding QA prior to taking on new work.Over the next twelve months we are looking to raise further capital to expand our proposition and drive growth. We'd like someone who has some experience managing a team of devs who can help the founder scale the team over timeInterview Process?? 1st Round - 30-minute phone interview with the CEO to see if we’re a good fit for each other?? Case Study - we’ll ask you to complete a case study to see how you think, before chatting through your submission in a 30-minute catch-up call with an engineer?? Onsite Interview (2 hours) - you’ll have a chat with Floris, our founder and have an opportunity to meet the team!??
