Road Maintenance Worker - Inverness

Blue Arrow are looking to recruit Road Maintenance Workers to cover the upcoming winter period for their client in Inverness. To work as part of a team to carry out all aspects of Community Works duties with TEC Services. To carry all aspects of Community Works; grounds maintenance, internments, de-littering, street cleaning and all related activities to a reliably high standard, safely. ? General road maintenance including winter maintenance ? Operation of powered hand tools, minor plant and machinery ? Compliance with the requirements for signing, lighting and guarding of roadworks ? Application of bitumous materials including slurry seal to footpaths, bitmac macadam and asphalt materials to roads and footpaths ? The construction and maintenance of footpaths involving kerb laying, block paving and the setting and installation of ironworks ? Excavation and backfilling of trenches for pipe culverts and drainage pipelines ? Accuracy in use of equipment and tools ? You may be required to undertake duties connected with other Community Works activities ? Assist higher graded operatives in their work ? You may be required to work during all weathers and in all conditions Essential Attributes In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates will be able to provide evidence of the following. Awareness of Health & Safety within a working environment. Experience in the construction of roads, bridges and drainage works. Skills in laying of hot bitumen's, kerb laying and laying of drainage pipes. Accuracy in the use of powered tools such as compressors and jack hammers. A driving licence is essential. Works well within a team and ability to work alone. Flexible working attitude and willing to learn. Ability to work in difficult environments such as outdoor working or exposed o disagreeable substances/materials. Evidence of a good health record. Considerable physical effort is required for lifting and carrying on a regular basis. Standing and/or walking can occur for the majority of the working day.
