Hours of work:
Flexible, the operation runs from 7am to Midnight 7 days a week. There are currently a team of 4 supervisors who work a variety of shifts over the 7 days and generally work 4 days and have 3 days off. Hours of work would typically be 37.5 per week.
The role: You will be working for a large University within their Catering, Bars and Dining operations. The operation is predominantly staff by students of the University. The role will lead student workers across multiple sites while on duty providing a point of contact for advice and issues as well as providing training to the student worker team to ensure excellent service continuity. Passing on your wealth of experience gained in the hospitality industry you will train and support the student workers achieve a great service to the guests. You will proactively contribute to innovate ideas to the bars and dining service. Variety of shift patterns available for full time and part time hours Key responsibilities include: Supervise team members to ensure specifications are adhered to and high standards are maintained Provide on-the-job and structured training such as barrel changes and cleaning tasks. Adhere to the University food safety code of practice Always ensure excellent customer service is delivered by the team Supervise the retail of alcohol in accordance to legal and regulatory requirements Supervise the Bar and Dining Services Supervise payment operations including, opening, operating and closure of the payment points, in line with financial procedures
Skills required: Ability to inspire and lead a team of young student workers Training and coaching - Able to communicate quickly & clearly with teams Strong attention to detail Enthusiasm and willingness to develop your own skills and knowledge, plus those around you Infectious passion for food and drink Flexible and have a willingness to embrace new ideas and processes Positive and approachable manner Able to stay calm when pressure mounts or difficulties arise in service Understanding of student-centric Social Media Platforms Basic understanding profit and loss accounts
Qualifications/Certifications/experience: Level 2 food Hygiene qualification
