This role is an immediate start to begin in September for the new academic year. About the school The Teaching Assistant role is based in a well-established main stream secondary school in Durham. Assignment Details As a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school, your key responsibilities will include, Providing in-class support to teachers, working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and ensure engagement. Managing student behavior and promoting a positive learning environment as well as contributing to progress monitoring. Excellent communication skills, curriculum knowledge, and a passion for supporting student learning and development are essential for succeeding in this flexible, supply-based teaching assistant role. A skills development manager to support your career goals Person Specification Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant Level 2/3 Teaching assistant qualification Must be 21 or over Must have UK school based experience Knowledge of child development and learning needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one. Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
