Developing algorithms in Java for energy options modelling Join this growing company who are using powerful mathematical modelling to help clients solve intractable optimisation problems in energy trading and logistics. To help them support their growing customer base, they are now seeking a Mathematical Java Developer to join their team. In this role you would be working on the creation of new back-end algorithms powering the company’s modelling toolkit. Strong coding skills in Java (or something extremely similar), and mathematics are essential, as is an understanding of options modelling. Specifically, you will need: * An excellent academic background in mathematics or a closely related subject from a top university, a 1st or 2.1 degree and mostly A*s at A-level (or equivalent) * A demonstrable understanding of (or preferably experience in) option pricing strategies and algorithms * Excellent coding skills in Java, or possibly a closely related OO language (C#, C++ etc) * Full existing right to work in the UK without restriction, time limit, or sponsorship The role is based in central London, with some scope for remote working.
