Senior Subsea Engineer

We have a current opportunity for a Senior Subsea Engineer on a permanent basis in London with an independent oil and gas operator. Purpose of the Role: The Project / Senior Subsea Project Engineer will be reporting to the Subsea Engineering Manager and will be responsible to carry-out and coordinate the completion of various Projects, from basic design to final commissioning, they will be involved in all technical, engineering and commercial parts of the Project. The Project / Senior Subsea Project Engineer is accountable for the delivery of safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations for subsea systems installed in one or more of our operating assets and in line with relevant codes and standards. Depending on the project assigned, the Project / Senior Subsea Project Engineer may manage a team, as applicable, of Subsea Engineers/ Specialists responsible for various functions with-in Subsea team as well as several external vendors/suppliers. The individual is expected to be accountable to coordinate all technical, engineering and commercial and project control parts during the development of Subsea projects. The role will require international travel to interface with the subsidiaries. The position is based in London. Key working relations: In country Production, Operations, & Projects Manager and Offshore teams Engineering teams in London office Other Project Managers Job Function: Main Responsibilities and Activities (as listed but not limited to the following): Support to Production / Operation team Provide trouble shooting engineering and execution support for existing subsea equipment, Define the execution plan for the identified subsea intervention plan and coordinate the execution offshore. Actively work in creating and building on the in-house knowledge of subsea intervention, Develop task plan for subsea project, Design of the facilities: Safe design of the facilities compliant with the company policies and international standards & regulations Design ensuring operability, maintainability and reliability of the facilities Overall coordination and consistency of project activities: coordination of interfaces Overall control of project schedule Overall control of project costs: Preparation of budget Follow-up of commitments, expenses and cost forecast Respect of statutory requirements Management of contractors Prepare close-out report and lesson learnt sessions for all work executed offshore Other Activities (as listed but not limited to the following): Coordinates with Company and other entities of the project Ensures accurate reporting of activities Maintains good relationship with internal and external parties Support and mentor less experienced team members Ensure a good and up to date system status with Subsea Group team HSEQ responsibilities: Support and enforce the company's HSEQ objectives and directives Risk Prioritization of Area identified risks and mitigation measures. Participation in the HAZID/HAZOP/Risk Assessments & provide input from Subsea Operations point of view. Promote HSEQ awareness of workforce and contractors and ensure that HSE is given the highest priority Listen to, evaluate any project team member's concerns; ensure that potential failures, weaknesses and hazards are immediately addressed and reported Conduct alignment sessions for project management team members with respect to objectives Essential Skills: In depth technical & engineering knowledge of Subsea Systems (mainly XTs and SPS systems plus Structures, Controls, Umbilical, Risers and Flowlines) in Deepwater Projects in all project phases (design, tender, construction/testing and installation). IT Skills: AutoCAD, MS Suite Behavioral skills: Good communicator Able to maintain focus under pressure Methodical Open minded and willing to challenge the industry DIY attitude Available for regular field visits / field work Qualification & Experience: Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, with 7 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry Ideally from one of the following speciality: Subsea Production System, Subsea Well intervention, Subsea Flowline, Subsea, Integrity Management, Subsea Flexible flowline/Risers, Subsea Control System, Subsea ROV, operations, Subsea Construction Good communication (people) skills Exposure to subsea intervention work, familiar with work class ROV operations and associated standards ROV tools used Fluent English Experiences from both contractor and operator side is welcomed Our role in supporting diversity and inclusion As an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group.
