Mobile Sheltered Housing / Independent Living Officer (P01804)Job IntroductionMain ResponsibilitiesThe Ideal CandidatePackage DescriptionMobile Sheltered Housing / Independent Living Officer (P01804)Fixed term to 30.06.202537 hours per weekStarting salary £26,237pa with potential progression to £28,076pa on achieving designated skills and experience.In Welwyn Hatfield we have a number of sheltered housing schemes enabling our residents to be independent in their own homes. We are looking for a mobile Officer to join our team to manage these schemes and provide our residents with the help and support they individually need.We’re looking for someone who truly cares about the work they do. You’ll be compassionate, and empathetic, with a great eye for detail and a flair for managing complex situations. You’ll be a confident communicator, able to build rapport with colleagues, tenants and agencies. Lone working you'll have support from your Team Leader. Working within our sheltered housing schemes, your duties will include visiting tenants, accessing help, producing support plans to enabling them to achieve their goals. You will also liaise with support services, facilitate social activities and ensure that access to services is exactly as it should be.A key responsibility of the post includes the installation of lifeline alarm units within the homes of local tenants and includes all administrative duties related to this task. You will also provide daytime cover for our Independent Living Officers (Scheme Managers) on our sheltered housing schemes. This is a varied and customer facing role, so you will need a ‘can do’ attitude and be confident to work independently. We’d love to hear from you if you have:A sensitive and supportive approach to the needs of vulnerable people.Experience of carrying out assessments and identifying and managing needs/risksThe ability to work on your own initiative and make decisionsGood interpersonal and communication skillsJoining Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, you’ll discover a workplace where everyone is respected, supported, and empowered.
