Job title: Senior Technical Waste Assessor
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £55,000-£65,000 (DOE)
Location: West Cumbria
Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Applicants must have experience of the following:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in radioactive waste management
- Radioactive Waste Adviser certificate of competence
- CIWN waste packer training
- CIWN technical assessor training or equivalent
Role information:
- Assess and sentence radioactive wastes which are meant for disposal
- Carry out the assessment of potential wastes for further treatment and returned wastes
- Assess and consign wastes through high temperature incineration and permitted landfill.
- Update waste records
- Provide technical input into waste acceptance reviews
- Coach and mentor other team members and personnel in good waste management practices and compliance
- Undertake internal and external audits of waste management practices
