Senior Technical Reinsurance Accounting Lead

I am partnering exclusively with a highly established Lloyds Insurer is currently hiring for a Senior Technical Reinsurance Accounting Lead to join their London team. This is a newly created role that has arisen through a strategic expansion across the Finance function due to a new CFO joining the business this year.Responsibilities:Overall Responsibility for all Outwards Reinsurance transactions in the financial result, including:Ownership of manual processing for ‘non-standard’ outwards reinsurance contractsResponsibility for intra-group reinsurance submissions, including being first point-of-contact for intercompany partnersResponsibility for reinsurance bad debt calculations and key inputs into reinsurance recoverable reporting, e.g. QMA form 710Key point-of-contact for auditors for outwards reinsuranceResponsibility for analysing and producing commentary on the outwards reinsurance resultResponsibility for reconciliations and control of automated outwards reinsurance transactions in the ledgerResponsibility and first point-of-contact for any downstream reporting (including Lloyd’s Regulatory and Head Office) and external queries relating to outwards reinsuranceSecondary responsibility for inwards insurance and reserving transactionsRequirements:Strong understanding of outwards reinsurance technical accounting from the Insurance Industry – EssentialLloyd’s Market experience – PreferredQualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) – EssentialProven process improvement skills including the ability to identify areas for improvement – EssentialStrong controls and reconciliations experienceAdvanced Excel skillsInquisitive mindset with proven problem solving skillsAbility explain complex data in simple termsExperience with Oracle general ledger - PreferredThis is a high profile role across the organisation as the finance team is aligning to support a number of key strategic objectives across the company so this position has a high level to visibility to senior management. It is therefore essential that you also have strong stakeholder management skills.
