Role: Learning Support Assistant - SEN
Salary: £19,000 - £22,000

MLK Search is excited to present this exciting opportunity for a charismatic and engaging Learning Support Assistant to join a mixed, specialist Independent SEN School in Greenwich.
The school, who cater for children and young people with EHCPs, offers a therapeutic approach with small classes and nurturing environment which provides the platform for success that mainstream educational settings cannot provide.
With regular intake of new students, they are seeking to appoint a confident, dynamic, and inspirational person who can inspire students to achieve positive learning outcomes, regardless of the challenges they face.
We're Looking For Someone Who Can:
- Support teachers, engage with students, provide learning support, and react to situations in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
- Work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
- Assist students in educational and social development.
- Provide support in and out of the classroom, so they can fully engage in all activities.
- Set up activities for students, using technology and adjusting environments to suit.
- Support pupils with emotional wellbeing as well as academic
- Build relationships with teachers and the rest of the staff
- Change things around if need be, quick on their feet
- Deescalate a situation, pick up on the issue quick and dealing with needs
- Be proactive in the classroom
Desirable Experience
- Successful experience within a similar setting supporting students with SEN, ASD
- Ability to build relationships with staff and students
- Someone with a school background, ideally secondary but open to primary
