Bids Manager - 12-Month FTC | Professional Services | Public Sector Focus

Bristol or Manchester . Hybrid, 2 days a week in offices

Up to £62k plus bonus and benefits

About the Role

Our client, a leading name in the professional services industry, is seeking an accomplished Bids Manager to join their dynamic and successful team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role focuses on managing bids primarily within the public sector, including high-profile engagements with central government departments, local authorities, and blue light organisations.

This is a critical position where you will play a pivotal role in securing new business and supporting the firm’s ambitious growth strategy. The client is an appointed member of several prestigious public sector frameworks across the UK, making this a unique opportunity to work on some of the most significant public sector bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Bid Management: Develop a deep understanding of the client’s public sector offerings, scoping bid requirements, managing the “go/no-go” process, and crafting strategies to maximise success against evaluation criteria.
  • Bid Development: Collaborate with partners and subject matter experts to articulate winning strategies, clearly identifying value propositions. Your expertise in writing compelling bid copy and project management will ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead interactions with key stakeholders, ensuring clear and confident communication throughout the bid process.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously enhance bid management systems and processes, ensuring efficient and effective bid production.
  • Team Leadership: Potential to manage and mentor bid team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Client Presentations: Prepare and coach bid teams for client presentations, ensuring alignment with messaging and strategic objectives.


What We’re Looking For


  • Organisational Excellence: Exceptional project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex bids on time and within scope.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with attention to detail and a command of grammar and spelling.
  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of technical and IT systems related to bid management.
  • Regulatory Insight: Knowledge of the regulatory environment within professional services is advantageous.
