WalkSafe is the UKs leading personal safety app and has recently launched two major products in addition to the award winning foundation app. At WalkSafe, we believe that everybody has the right to feel safe, wherever they are and in any situation. We provide journey sharing features, automatic alerts in case users don’t get home on time and an SOS button all to help users make informed decisions around your personal safety!
Our safety map shows safe haven locations across the UK and helps users to plan safer nights out.
Our WalkSafe Pro product is used by companies to support their employee safety and empower their staff to get home safely.
In 2023 we won the security and safety tech of the year and the Talk Talk tech award. This year the app has already won the Street Heroes award for helping women who needed safe spaces.
The company is at an exciting point in its development and looking to expand rapidly over the next 12 months.
The Role
We're looking for a curious, dynamic and talented Full Stack Developer who is looking to make a step forward in their career by mentoring other front end developers and proactively contributing towards the development of the WalkSafe product's. You will be a huge part in taking our App to the next level and play your part in keeping 1000’s of users safe from harm. We are looking for someone to lead our development team, reporting directly to the product manager to ensure we deliver marketing leading personal safety technology.
As downloads of WalkSafe increase and we begin to globalise we will be faced with a unique set of challenging and thought-provoking scenarios and we will be counting on your experience, technical knowledge and flair to innovate and build great solutions to complex problems.
What you’ll bring to the role<
/strong>- A minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Front-end React Developer in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong in React-Native / JS for the mobile application
- Great problem-solving skills
- Confident in managing a team and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people
- .NET6 / C# for backend
- Any experience with Docker and Kubernetes is useful but not essential
- Familiarity with graphic design applications such as Adobe Figma
