Job Summary


SFJ Awards are a regulated Awarding Organisation, delivering high quality qualifications and custom certification for learners through Approved Centres in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. We are also an Apprenticeship End-Point Assessment (EPA) Organisation approved by the Education and Skills Funding Agency to deliver EPA to apprentices for a growing number of apprenticeship standards in England.


SFJ Awards is part of the Workforce Development Trust group, which includes Skills for Health, Skills for Justice and People 1st International.


The purpose of this role is to develop product assessment materials and related resources that meet regulatory, organisational and stakeholder requirements. The post holder will ensure that SFJ Awards qualifications and EPA Assessment standards and accreditation products are compliant with regulatory obligations and meet customer and organisational quality requirements. The post holder will work under the direction of the Contracts and Products Manager as part of a team and will be liaising with and supporting a range of customers and stakeholder bodies involved in the design of assessment materials aligned to the National Occupational standards and the End Point assessment professional standards. They will also be involved in liaising with, assigning work to and reviewing the outputs of external, subject matter experts and associates involved in development activities.


This role requires someone who thrives on being organized yet flexible enough to keep up with developments in a dynamic landscape.


The salary range for this role is £33,000 - £35,000 per annum.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Contracts and Products Manager, the post holder’s key responsibilities will include:

  • Working under the direction of the Contracts and Products Manager to develop content for SFJ Awards assessment, accreditation and qualification products, primarily for the End Point Assessment standards and Custom Certification programmes, although flexibility will be required to develop regulated qualifications if required.
  • Liaising with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure that developed content meets with organizational and customer quality standards including, where relevant, regulatory body requirements.
  • Allocating work to and overseeing delivery by subject matter experts working with SFJ Awards on End point Assessment standards and assessments.
  • Managing a specific SFJ Awards sector and taking responsibility for the products within that sector.

Person Specification

  • Teaching, training, assessor or quality assurance qualifications (Desirable)
  • Degree or diploma level qualification in any field, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the processes involved in the development of end point assessment products
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements of the UK qualification regulators
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles that underlie credible, valid and reliable assessment methodologies
  • Experience of developing qualifications and/or associated learning and assessment resources
  • Experience of gathering, interpreting and using information from diverse sources to create, review and develop formal materials for external use
  • Experience of recruiting, assigning work to and performance managing external providers of services/associates
  • Experience of implementing defined financial procedures relating to contract delivery
  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Able to interpret and use information from a range of sources to inform content development
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to undertake travel and to be mobile across the UK as required
