Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) Location: Abingdon Job Type: Full-Time Salary: £47,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM About Us: My client is a cutting-edge R&D and manufacturing company at the forefront of innovation. We are seeking a versatile Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills to join our dynamic team. The role involves working on advanced reactors, pumps, and other complex machinery in a fast-paced, high-tech production environment. Job Overview: The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various production equipment, including reactors and pumps. This role requires a balance of electrical and mechanical expertise, as well as a basic understanding of PLCs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a production or R&D environment and the ability to adapt to fast-paced operational demands. Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of machinery, including reactors, pumps, and other equipment. Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults, ensuring minimal downtime. Conduct basic PLC troubleshooting and make adjustments where necessary. Wire electrical systems and perform installations as required. Work with other departments, including R&D, to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely. Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, issues encountered, and repairs completed. Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Qualifications and Skills of the Maintenance Engineer Strong experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, ideally in a fast-paced production or R&D environment. Knowledge of pumps, reactors, and other production machinery. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults, including wiring and basic PLC troubleshooting. Familiarity with mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic components. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. A relevant engineering qualification (e.g., electrical/mechanical engineering, mechatronics) is preferred.
