Senior Health Economist Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Health Economist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing complex analytics to support whole system planning, strategy development, management assurance and economic evaluations. The role will require an innovative approach to analytics to anticipate the needs of integrated care systems, life sciences, pharmaceutical and medical technology organisations, while working in collaboration with colleagues, clinical leads, partners and customers across the system. You will have extensive knowledge in the following areas: Data generation processes required to conduct population health analysis. Leading economic and quantitative evaluations using econometric and decision modelling techniques. Working with clinical and systems leads. The application of time series analysis to support budget setting in commissioning teams. Use of health equity analysis The ability to influence policy decisions at local and national level with exemplary pieces of evidence-based work. Extensive knowledge of NHS data sets. Role Scope: Full time hours - 37.5 per week A fixed-term agreement for 6 months A remote work schedule with occasional office days for team meetings in the Midlands area. Key Responsibilities: Lead health economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, and budget impact analysis of commercial products and services. Provide health economics and modelling expertise to customers, and contribute to policy development, interpret national policy and decision-making, developing the use of applied health economic tools. Manage relationships with life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical technology customers, and ICS stakeholders at senior and executive level. Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services, and initiatives which may be highly complex, sensitive, political, and contain contentious information with the aim of providing information and analytical advice to the teams. Communicate information, risks, issues, and dependencies, including briefings and reports to senior teams, sponsors, and a range of internal and external staff. Knowledge & Skills: Master’s degree in health economics or a related discipline. Significant experience in health economics within the NHS or Healthcare Setting. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience with health economic modelling. Excellent project management and leadership skills. Excellent knowledge of health data sets and integrated data. Ability to build effective cross functional working relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
